I went to a leadership conference this weekend where I met and made friends with a lot of foreign exchange students. I had been thinking about possibly being an exchange student next year but after hearing all the great things they said about the program, I'm seriously considering it. My mom is also considering being a host family so we can host a foreign exchange student at our house. I wish the program was six months instead of twelve, however, because next year will be my senior year. I definitley have to give it more thought....Have any of you ever thought about being a foreign exchange student?

When my mom was my age, her family was a host family and they loved it. She still talks to exchange student today...I've met her and her son.
My school wouldn't be the ones sponsoring my trip...well, sort of. I'm in a club at school called Interact (sort of like a volunteering club) and Interact is a division of Rotary. Rotary is basically what Interact is only it's for adults (and obviously not part of school). Rotary has a youth exchange program...so they'd be the one's sponsoring me. |
