is it worth dating not-so-close friends?

I've been dating this guy for the past few weeks. We've known each other for 3 years but we're not really close.

We've dated a couple of times and he bores me. Yeah, I know, I say that about a lot of guys. But like throughout dinner, he hardly says anything at all!

I mean, I thought when I dated him, I'd get to know him better. But it's like when I date him, he becomes a freakin stranger.

To me, it's so not worth it. Not only do you get really bored at dinner, you also lose a potential friend. Now we really are like strangers.

Hm.
It sort of doesn't sound like it's worth it.. but Vinh has a good point, maybe you should "break the ice"..

Hmmmmm. I'm not sure, though. =/
