Need help coding Skin, Can't Code Links Box Options

Well, I am currently working on my first Xanga skin, and right now I am trying to put in the navigation links. I got a code from a xanga skin tutorial to do it, but the links appear in the blogger box instead of on the page where I want it to. Here is the code I am using to do my skin, can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.. ? Thankyou sooo much....

first, put your css before all your divs. then organize your divs in this order:

<div class="image" margin-left:#px; margin-top:#px; width:#px; height:#px;><img src=blah blah></div>
<div class="navigation" margin-left:#px; margin-top:#px; width:#px; height:#px;>blahblah these are your links</div>
<div class="blog" margin-left:#px; margin-top:#px; width:#px; height:#px; overflow: auto;>


...the reason why right now your navigation is showing up in the same div as your blog is because they're in the same div ;x there are also some things you don't need in your coding.. so start over, with your css FIRST, then list your divs. it'll be much easier to edit in the long run also x;
