My skin was numb
And worn to a glove, Silk-like, even; A protective form Laying a warm quilt, After the needle’s hit, The jettisoned wastes Of poppy opium My veins are on fire! Blood and my skin- Shades of lavender My hurt and sins I could not see Where were my friends Because, there stood An angel... I thought for a while As he glared at me Then a woman approached With my graceful, male, friend Both looked stunning Their red lips, on men, Came down on me And I wondered, then— ‘How am I dying, so peaceful here’ “Why am I dying In the arms of my friends’ |
