I have a friend we'll call him derelique. =) i guess you already figured out his name. He keeps trying to cut himself...he doesn't think is life is worth living. He calls himself a loser and that sort've thing....what do i do? I'm sorta scared, what if he kills himself?! He's one of my best buds too...

Most serious suicidal people will announce their intent or show signs of leaving the Earth, I think as a cry for help from friends to stop him. If he tells you he's gonna do it, stop him. WITH ALL MEANS POSSIBLE.
Cutting is overrated. I mean, it hurts, and in the end, you feel more pain. Hitting the bedroom wall would be much more helpful. Tell him to attack inanimate objects. Encouraging him that life is worth it won't be a one day thing. =O Getting all his friends over for a fun party will def. help. And then call him up ALOT. just to talk to him/chat n stuff. yea alot of POSITIVE socialing for a long period of time will help. And try to find the root problem for why he feels like not living. =) Have a nice day!!! |
