tape effect, how do you do it?

hhmm..i've seen the tape effect on this site, and i wanna know how to do it. I looked for it in the tutorials, but theres none, so can soemone plz teach me how to? or put it in tutorials? thnx pipolz =]

1. make a new document, like 250x100 with a transparent background. then take your rectangle tool, under the T [text tool]. pick a beige color, like E1D9B9. lower the opacity of the rectangle to 45%. you can do this by going to the bar at the top of the screen, under all the file, edit, etc.


2. now since it's so small and transparent, zoom in once or twice so you can see what you're doing. (press ctrl + to zoom in) find your polygonal lasso tool. that's under the dotted square, which is the first tool. you might have to hold that button down to find the tool since the tools are grouped together.

3. now with your lasso tool, start at one corner of the rectangle. make the jaggedy edges along the shorter edges of the rectangle. it doesn't need to be perfect. messy is actually more appropriate for tape happy.gif


4. now ctrl-c, and open up a new document, transparent. paste. you're done! now you can copy and paste this anywhere you want! oh yeah, you can also add special effects. go to filter>>artistic>>plastic wrap. choose highlight strength:5, detail:8, smoothness 8.
