does the type of music you listen to effect your mood? usually when i'm sad or depressed i listen to emo music and i feel better. then again my friends think i'm odd...is anyone else like this or is it just me?

it depends on what music i am listening to if i get sad then i will listen to bands like good charlotte and simple plan and if i get mad i'll listen to slipknot or summin...and sometimes it makes me feel better and sometimes it makes me feel worse but the music usually helps me get over it because then i know i'm not the only one in the world that feels this way which i tend to think alot.
