does the type of music you listen to effect your mood? usually when i'm sad or depressed i listen to emo music and i feel better. then again my friends think i'm odd...is anyone else like this or is it just me?

Most of the songs I listen to make me feel good, or else I wouldn't be listening to them. Some of the lyrics I can relate to tho, and it makes me sad.
