I was on NewEgg just now and I came across an AMD Sempron processor. Is this a new line of AMD processors, or an old one that I just never new about?

It's an AMD 32-bit processor that has 64-bit emulation and fits onto standard Socket-A motherboards, I think. It's pretty new, it just came out a month ago.

ah that explains why i didn't hear about it.

anyone think it's worth a buy? i was planning on building a cheapo system ($300 or under) using an xp 2200/2400+ but if the sempron line is good i might as well give it a shot.
