I've had a flat stomach for over 6 years, and you wanna know my secret?
Do ya....? DO YA?!?!?!?! Okees! I do 'bout 500 - 1000 different ab exercises bout 5-6 days a week. But since you are probably not at that stage yet ![]() 1) Focus on the form and breathing, not how many you do. I need to do so many because my stomach is so strong, it takes that many to start feeling a burn. So the trick to getting the burn soon is to exhale and hold when you're flexing your abs. 20 properly done crunches are more effective than 150 sloppy crunches. Trust me. 2) Regular sit-ups, crunches, will only target specific areas of your stomach. So you need to have a variety of exercises to target the entire abdominal area and get the stomach you want. Here I've included a couple of the exercises that target the hardest-to-get-toned areas of your stomach. A) Oblique crunches - Targets: Sides of your stomach. Start by laying on your side. Prop your head up with your hand, your elbow touching the floor. Put your other arm with the hand touching the top of your head, so it makes a ->- shape. Now, take your outermost leg and raise it up to about a 60 degree angle, raising your arms and head up with it. MAKE SURE YOU EXHALE WHEN YOU DO THAT! Hold it for about 3 seconds, then slowly lower back down to resting position. Do that 10 times for that side, then switch sides. Do that move for 2 reps each side. B) Forgot-The-Name-Of-The-Move-But-Oh-Well - Targets: Lower Abs. This is the hardest area to target, and this is the only move I do that really tones your abs in this area. Lay down on the floor. Raise your legs about 6 inches off the ground, and flex your stomach. Slowly raise your legs up to form a 90 degree angle. Exhale, and slowly lower your legs back down to the resting position (6 inches above the ground.) Yeah, it sounds killer. And it is. Which is why you need to start off with 1 rep of 20 a day. Start off doing these about 4 times a week. Remember, you can do as many crunches as you want, but if you have no cardio in your work-out, your effort will go to waste. So make sure you're doing some sort of cardio 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week, to see minimal results. Also, make sure you're drinking PLENTY of water! You'd be surprised how much faster you get abs when you drink water ![]() Hopefully that will help you out a bit. If you got anymore questions, please feel free to ask me. Good luck! |
