My friend is like REALLY botherin' me w/ this math problem rite now... and it's buggin' me out... literally. As I do not know the answer myself, so I am wonderin' if the kind people @ CreateBlog could help! Why is it important to put the numbers in order? [As when finding the median.] ::edit:: That title isn't really helpin' me out... is it? Confuses some pplz it does. The question was that why is it that you have to put the numbers in order from least to greatest or vice versa? Why must you put in order? (I know how to find the mean, median, mode, and range. So if you're 'bout to answer among the lines of that... don't answer.) |

no no no ur getting it all wrong... u dont HAVE to put it in order, but its jus easier and more accurate. if u can do calculus in ur head, u dont HAVE to write down the stuff on a scrap piece of paper.... get wat im saying?
but if u haf a long list of numbers n u hafta find the median, its jus way easier. like 15, 17, 18, 19, 24, 35, 85 median is the 19 because it is in the of the group. but if it were written like 24, 17, 18, 85, 19,15 and it asked u to find median, its pretty hard not to put it in order first. |
