I find it increasingly annoying the sheer amount of people who feel offended by the Vice President's actions and his company.
Here's an example quote, from my friend Jess (a staunch anti-Bush liberal): QUOTE Yeah and companies like the one run by our VP are reaping all the nebenfits of the war, which is a bunch of crap. And I keep hearing comments along these lines, and I've finally had enough. I know the ideology of the democrat is to support the individual working man, and to protect the establishment of small businesses. And I wish them all the best when pursuing that ideal, but give me a break... Would the democrats of the United States suggest we take small, private/family owned businesses and ship them to Iraq to build an entire country? There are two main facts you're simply going to have to deal with... 1) The industry is all about capability. Small businesses lack the capability to handle such a grand task. The honest truth is that companies such as GE, Halliburton, and Dresser Industries are the infrastructure companies who can handle projects of this magnitude, not "Big Jim's electric", or "Johnson Family Natural Gas". 2)Cheney makes money in Iraq, and hundreds of other places, too. ***NEWSFLASH*** dit, dit, dit: Cheney's making money here, too. You know, chances are that when your house is warmed up by gas, your business lit up from a power grid, or you even fill up your SUV at Texaco, Halliburton or Dresser Industries played a big part in the pump existing. You put money in Cheney's pocket everyday, and that's been the situation for years. We call that a monopoly, which is a subdivision of capitalism; the financial basis of this country. Get over it, and let the men do their jobs. Heaven forbid they make some money... As if the VP's company making money off the war is even a substantial issue, anyway. You don't like it? Don't stay here. That's one of your freedoms, too. I suggest you utilize it. |

QUOTE and... let's see.... energy companies... energy= oil. Listen here, oil tycoon, there are several subdivisions of the "energy" title. Maybe, for one, if you knew what the hell you were talking about, you might do your homework and realize that without companies like Dresser Industries, your teenie boppin' ass wouldn't have a car to take to the mall on the weekends, heat in your home, or power at your daddy's business. QUOTE do you want to know why i should give a damn? because, in 3 year, i have to go to the post office to sign up for the draft. so i can die in a stupid, F---ing war for oil. Well, I'm in the same boat there cap'n, except I have to do it next year, so don't victimize yourself. I'm on the track to Kansas University, and should the draft be reinstated (which you've assumed already has), it'd be a big pointless operation. Which is exactly why it won't... QUOTE fense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld told reporters Tuesday he sees no need for a draft. He said the military is managing to attract enough skilled recruits without one. Rumsfeld: "No need for a draft" There are so many volunteer soldiers out of high school alone, we haven't the necessity. Keep your pants on, hothead. QUOTE do you want to know why i should give a damn? because this is MY country and much as it's YOUR country, and it's in the hands of an idiot male cheerleader. I never challenged that. Oh, and that "idiot male cheerleader's" military actions have literally crippled Al-Qaeda. If you desire the non-partisan proof of that, ask away. QUOTE do you want to know why i should give a damn? because i am a citizen of the united states of america. Me too, wow. QUOTE do you want to know why i should give a damn? because it my right as a citizen to question my leaders, and to see what the hell they're screwwing about to earn a million dollars a day. Good for you, question them all day. It's my right to ask you where the hell you're coming up with this million dollars per day, and why you chose that number. As well, to wonder if you think the soldiers have anything to do with the rebuilding of the natural gas system in Iraq, because if you do, you're sadly mistaken. It's called outsourcing. As well, it's really not that complicating for us to exit Iraq. We're simply handling the anti-American riot which wishes us dead. There are two groups in Iraq, those that want to kill us, and those that do not. We have to contain the former before we can jet. I don't know if you're up with the Times, but the U.S. returned sovereignty to Iraq on June 28th. QUOTE do you want to know why i should give a damn? because it is MY right to say the President is an idiot if i want to, it is my right to say that the vice president is a corrupt oil- stealer. and it is MY right as an american to say what i want. QUOTE Yes, and it's your right to be wrong, and I respect that. Congratulations, I applaud you. |
