Separating posts, w/ pix/bars but not a plain line Options

hi! i'm learning how to make html codes (they're really fun!) and i wanna kno--is there a code for putting some sort of bar/picture to separate day-to-day posts? it should go right above the previous day's date and below the first eprops, comments, etc. thx!
