So annoying.., yet flattering in a way? Options

My friend keeps IMing me telling me out beautiful and perfect and my bf is lucky to have me and all. he liked me since I was a freshmen (im a soph now and hes a senior) and its kinda annoying but sorta flattering in a way i guess but not like tht. I mean, hes a nice guy to me and all but..he's not tht kinda guy i sorta want (cheats, not a virgin, smokes, etc.) so yah..I think he still likes me since he gave me this messege when i was asleep on IM

He also gave me more messeges like this whole week but i didnt save em all so ya

I want to tell him tht I dont like him like tht and all but its hard..NE suggestions?

if you confront him in the wrong way, he seems like the type to go psychotic, so i'd say do it gently. tell him you're TAKEN, and you dont respect the things that he does (smokes, ect.). tell him even if you were single, he wouldn't be your first pick anyways. then continue to talk to him, but everytime he makes a flirtatious comment, i'd say change the subject. away messages dont hurt either.

or put up with it for awhile. he'll be graduating.
