Honestly, You people are really stubborn. You have nothing against religion, sexuality, race, but yet, you hate posers. Maybe being a poser is a new lifestyle. I hate people who hate bands just because they are posers. So what. They make music because they like to. Who gives a fudge if they are posers or not. You people are hypocrites. I expect a debate. A poser is someone who says they belong to another counter-culture when they acually don't. They're liars, pretenders, and fakers, all in the name of popularaty, poser isn't a type of music or a style, its a thing, like a lie.
Here's an example:
I'm Punk, but I won't protest big business, and I don't listen to any punk music, even though that's what punks do.

When you say posers making music, I suppose you're talking about the newest "Flavor of the Month" rockbands on the great idol of teenage lemmings,

People call G.D. and Avril posers because they've claimed before that they're or their music is, PUNK. Any perfectly normal person can look up the history of punk up on the internet and see that they do not fit the pattern at all. Did they protest for social and economical anarchy? No, they did the opposite, they sold out to big money for a spot on TV.
Thus claiming to be something they're not, makes them posers.
It's not about the clothes, you could dress homeless and still be punk, if you don't mind weird haircuts, whores, drugs, shitty houses, and very angry fist happy people.
