There are many cases where a friendship is ruined over someone developing feelings for the other...in your opinion, should the line be crossed?

I'm kind of in the same situation.
I want to stay friends because I don't want anything to change. On the other hand, I want him to know how I feel. So...this is just me, but I wrote an entry in my xanga [the newest one] telling him that I like him, but I don't want anything to happen between us. Complicated, really, but I'm glad I told him.
