how many people here play some sort of musical instrument? if you do, how long have you been playing and how did you learn?
i've been teaching myself piano for about 3 years and my friend just started teaching me how to play the guitar a few weeks ago. ![]() |

The spoons.
I developed a love for the spoons when I was 4. I spent my first years learning to grip and correctly smack the spoons against my knees. I slowely moved from show tunes to greater more complex music. At 8, I was playing out town squares and had built up a great street rep. + a steady income of dimes and nickles. I was noticed by a freelance agent looking for the next "big thing". I was flown out to Italy, and spent 10 years under the teaching of Franz Oliva (former child spoon playing prodigy). After going up against and beating my master in the international spoon-off, I was ready to move on. At 18, I was a young buck in the music game. I started out with a gentle pre-teen boyish image; and sold many records. At 21, I graduated to a hardcore sex icon. My spoons and I were the shit. I triple tapped my way into American mainstream, and eventually built up a strong following across the world. The cocaine, women, and constant touring took its toll on me. By 25, I had lost my love of spoons and my actual talent was worse then when I had started. I was fuxz0red. My money lost, all my fake friends gone, here I sit at a run-down nightclub playing techno remixes on my spoons for booze and ecstasy. Would I do it all again? Yes. |
