being TOO shy, when it comes to talking to ur crush.... Options

i like this guy who's a sophomore in high school, well going to be when school starts and i'm freshman. i like this guy ever since the first day of 7th grade for me. see, before i told him i like him, i could KINDA talk to him...sometimes. but still, i could neva start a conversation with him.

we are both in marching band and over the summer, we have band camp and stuff. last saturday was the second meeting of band camp and i told myself that i would AT LEAST say Hi to him cuz I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY shy towards guys. so saying hi to him would be a huge achievement for me. but after band was over, i didn't get a chance to talk to him because 1) i finished packing away my instrument, 2) i already put away the stand and chair, and 3) he was still packing. i left before i could say hi or him finished packin away his trombone.

I was SO shy that i couldn't even walk up to the dude and say a simple hello! and i never felt this way about a guy before and this crush is the LONGEST i ever have. everytime i'm around him, i just freeze and can't make a simple conversation with him nor say a simple hey. i get butterflies in my stomach and my knees weaken. i try to be myself around him ( a kinda weird, sometimes funny, TALKING a lot girl) but for some reason i can't. the only time i can talk to him is when my best friend starts the conversation. this may sound selfish but I want to start the converation but i can't.

any advice for breakin my shy shell toward guys esp. to the guy that I have been crushin on ever since 7th grade???????

well, i don't know if he has a s/n. cuz i asked his sis (she and i are friends) if he has one and she said she wasn't sure if he has one or if he uses aim
