QUOTE Nintendo is not making a lot of money from pokemon now. To date, i'm pretty sure the mario franchise is their main money maker. the legend of zelda being another. Id like to note that two of the top three selling games of 2003 three were Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Nintendo is making ALOT of money from Pokemon products. As for the new Zelda game, when I saw the trailor I nearly had an orgasm in my pants. Link is becoming a darker character, shades of Ocarina of Time. Im going to love this game. This year Nintendo is about the Gamer and about the Developer. Theyre making things easier for developers to make games, especially on the impending DS, and they are making new games for the gamer, including classics like the new Zelda, Star Fox, Metroid (complete with four player fun), and more. I have a feeling that Nintendo will soon be on its rightful place as the greatest gaming company in existence. Wind Waker was not childish. The graphics were, sure. But the game itself is hardly child-worthy. The cel shading, for the record, was horrendous. The other effects however, such as lighting and color, incredible. The graphics were pretty horrid for even a cel shaded game. Kingdom Hearts is somewhat a kiddie game. While its got somewhat a difficulty level for older kids, its aimed at younger ones with its Disney characters. My 9 year old cousin has it for Crisp's sake. And finally, the Nintendo lineup is NOT kiddy. If you look at the releases for Nintendo youll see a heavy line up of adult games including many many Resident Evils, including the fourth one coming up which looks AMAZING, Bond 007: Everything or Nothing, the Phantasy Star games, PN03, Ikaruga, this list could go on forever. DONT base your opinions on nIntendo based on Mario and the like, while those are somewhat kiddy, the difficulty level surpasses that of a child. When you read a multiplatform gaming magazine and see a crapload of kiddy games for GC, then you can call it kiddy, but since the GameCube released I havent seen very many "kiddy" games. |
