A family of three move from Boston to Los Angeles as a means of reconciling their past anguish. They move to a restored mansion, unaware that the home is haunted.

I don't think the risk of the old story line becoming shitty is any greater than the risk of the new story lines just being shit to begin with

i don't think it's really about an old story line becoming shitty, i think the story just ended. that's it, the end, you know? like they probably didn't even think of where to go past the last episode. there's really not much you can do with that storyline because all the main characters are... dead. if there was a continuation, it would just be about that creepy antichrist kid killing everything and ending the world and that would be sort of lame.

also i read one of the main reasons jessica lange took the role was bc it wasn't a multiple seasons commitment? idk.

i think the every season becoming a new story is good just bc it gives them a lot more room to experiment. take from the past experience and make an even better story. so like after a bunch of seasons, instead of a long, drawn-out, beat-down storyline (sort of like what dexter is becoming to me), it's like a collection of interesting, short(er) stories. i just personally like that idea more.
