My computer keeps randomly shutting down. At first I figured it was an overheating thing, but it's in a completely open space on it's side with a fan running on it and it still does it.

I ran malwearbytes and it came up clean. I was told to run a registry cleaner but before it can finish the scan my computer will shut off. It'll shut off almost instantly if I start up in safe mode.

It's seems as long as I am not doing anything significant it's fine. I haven't tried opening anything other than the internet and the registry cleaner though.

Take it outside and blow out the dust. And make sure it has proper ventilation at the back. Also few tips for buying from apple. Refurbished items are in perfect condition and have been totally reset and inspected for problems. I would definitely buy refurbished. If you want to buy new then use a student discount and just pick any college. You'll get 10% off and they don't check to see if you're telling the truth. I've gotten two macbook pros like that.

Also you can buy insurance if you want, but even if you didn't and somethings broken the people at the apple store are so nice. Few examples. Brother bought a macbook pro, and 3 months later a new one came out, so he called and complained and they just said "oh I'm sorry, we can trade in your laptop for the new model if you want? Or we can just send you 300 dollars."
