a lot of people post up places and when you respond to the ad, they'll tell you that they're in another state at the moment, but they want you to drive by the location and if you like it, to fill out an application form so they can run a credit/background check or whatever.
i mean, it's pretty obvious to never give your info to someone you've never met, but some people do get tricked. my priorities in order were 1) location, 2) price, and 3) description. |

i haven't looked for places on craiglist, but i have posted on craiglist twice for subletting my apartment during my summers off for college, and i didn't have any problems with it, except for the occasional scammers who were easy enough to ignore.
