Well I guess first off, do you cook? How long have you been cooking for? What got you into cooking? Do you cook for fun or for practicality or for economic reasons?
I'll answer the question since I also asked lolololl - I've cooked since fourth grade, taught by my dad, and I cook for enjoyment / experimentation with foods/flavors. It also ended up being a nice skill to have especially from a female friend perspective :] but that's far from why I cook. Second, how are you when you're cooking? For instance, last time I cooked I had a couple friends over whom I was cooking for. I told them to do whatever they wanted for about thirty minutes, tv, computer, wii, xbox, ps3, dogs, whatever they so desired. They wanted to help me cook, though :( I can't cook with other people unless they know exactly what I want them to do. I've cooked with my dad (he taught me how) since fourth grade so we can share a kitchen fairly well. We'll split up the chores and just go at it. My friends realllly wanted to help me cook though, so I didn't want to be an ass and say no so I had them do simple things that would hopefully take up a lot of time. I don't like sharing a kitchen, at all. When I cook everything's going through my head in a way that if I tried to explain it I would sound like a babbling fool, but it all makes perfect sense to me. |

I love cooking! I have been cooking for many years now. In middle and high school I would cook dinner for my family every night. I'm very picky about what I eat, especially what brands of foods and such, so cooking for myself is more ideal.
I would prefer to cook by myself because I know what and how I want to do something, so having someone not know how to cut an onion or something of the sort is SO frustrating. If I need to have someone help then I will just make them do the easiest no-brain things, especially washing dishes or just stirring something. Lately, I've been buying multiple vegetarian cookbooks and going on crazy cooking sprees every day. Now that I have my own apartment it's really nice to be able to just cook whenever I feel like it. In the dorms it was so hard to eat what I wanted to because... well what can you really cook in a microwave besides ramen noodles? At the same time it's frustrating because I only just moved in a short time ago so I either don't have all the spices/herbs/etc I need to make things yet OR I still don't have the right appliances necessary. I also need to learn how to pair wines with my meals. I've just been pairing White Zinfandel with everything because it's my favorite kind of wine, but I'd like to know how to pick the right wine for any meal. |
