Hellooo, I'm Joanne! But I see that JC's already introduced me... Hi Joanne. :)I wish I took French immersion in elementary school! My mom apparently wanted to put me in French, but she said I cried when she asked me... I've been wondering, how exactly does French-language education work in Canada? I have several friends from Vancouver and Edmonton who know French because they had to take it in high school, and some from Ontario (mainly Toronto and the surrounding area) who also took it then, but I also know some who never had to take French. None of them are really proficient, except for one who's fluent because she attended a French immersion school (jealous!). I actually don't know how it works here. It has to depend on the school then.. I found out that you have to go to the high school closest to you. I had to apply to get into my high school in New York but not here in Toronto. Perhaps that's the reason why that happened?
