California's Proposition 8, which introduced an amendment to the CA constitution that forbid gays and lesbians from marrying, was overturned by the CA State Supreme Court on the grounds that it is unconstitutional. (The case is being appealed to the 9th Circuit.)

Im a little behind on this latest thing. What happened exactly? where are you from? do you not read or watch the news? I'm so excited that they've overturned prop 8. Unfortunately, it may not stay that way, especially with the current Supreme Court being the most conservative it's ever been in recent years. I'm not sure even if Elena Kagan votes prop 8 unconstitutional, if it'll be enough to tip the balance. |
