California's Proposition 8, which introduced an amendment to the CA constitution that forbid gays and lesbians from marrying, was overturned by the CA State Supreme Court on the grounds that it is unconstitutional. (The case is being appealed to the 9th Circuit.)

iirc the judge is staying his decision because everyone and their mother knows it's going to be appealed, so nothing really happened yet.
Repeal all marriage laws. Government should be totally out of marriage, whether they are gay or straight. So if men wanna the woman of their dreams/nightmares, men want to marry 5 women, gays wanna marry gays, men wanna marry their cars, women wanna marry their shoes, pedobear wants to marry a 9 year old, etc. they can all be free to get their own marriage certificates from whatever private organization they wish. No discrimination. And I can be free to disregard their marriages and laugh at them. |
