I'm coding a Chatroom with PHP, Javascript (jQuery), and Ruby.
While i'm sketching and trying to come up with ideas, I can't seem to figure out anything!. I'm gonna have a chat with no bots. I'm gonna be running my own botnets, etc (Yes i'm a hacker, well a low-skilled one anyways) just to make sure NO bots can get in, and make strict policy's for the damn pervs. I'm planning this Chat room to be more, add on and make it expand. It's 2010 already! let's do something new. With a slick UI and more stuff. So any ideas? |

You know, IRC can be pretty.
 It's just a simple text protocol, so you can make it look like anything you want.

I assume you actually plan on maintaining this, and not pulling a jusun and leaving it to rot, so you can just gline the bots that don't do so well. fyi, IRC is less likely to have spam than your regular flash/java/php/whatever chat room. edit: the point is, why create your own chat protocol when there is already a widely accepted protocol in place? |
