It pains me to see that the first few pages of this forum barely mentions anything about real hip hop artists. So, since the last legit thread was a couple of years ago, I thought it was time to share and discover whats good. I'm open to everything, I hope you are too.
Let's start off with one of the best hip hop album of all time: Nas' Illmatic ![]() This is the first major album of Nas' career. With powerful lyricism and mad flow, Illmatic could be consider his perfect album. With tracks like "Life's A B**ch" and lines like "It drops deep as it does in my breath I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death Beyond the walls of intelligence, life is defined I think of crime when I'm in a New York state of mind " - N.Y State Of Mind this album was a breakthrough for lyrical rap. If you were to listen to just one song I'd say "Life's A B**ch" Please add to this list :] |

Jun Seba... Rest In Beats. when i heard about his death earlier this year, i was genuinely sad.
nujabes got me into listening to more asian hip hop. like drunken tiger for instance. shit is dope. even though i don't understand, i understand the music. music is universal. ps, i read the english translation for Drunken's 845, i know what it means lol i also know the reason behind it. |
