How much do you think is too much for a dog or cat? Cat's are easy to find free/cheap esp around here, but it seems harder to find dogs.

I went to some pounds and their dogs were anywhere from $200-550. I just never new pound dogs were that much.

What's the most expensive pet you own/know? Anyone have a pure bread?

$290-550 seems wayyyyy to much in my opinion. The pounds in my city [San Diego fyi] have the adoption fees for about $70 for a dog/puppy then like...if it's over 6 years I think the price for the fee gets cut in half.

I've got two dogs...one I got coincidentally b/c my neighbor's dog had puppies, so I bought the chihuahua/poodle when she was 4 months old for like...$5. The second dog is a dachshund (wiener dog)-terrier mix that I adopted at a local shelter for about $70-80 after adoption/licensing fees & taxes.

Hope this helps but feel free to ask any more questions _smile.gif
