there's this quote going around on tumblr that sort of annoys me.

I don’t hate sluts/whores. I pity them. They’re mistaking lust for love. Once they get old, no one will “love” them anymore. That is, until they figure out what love really is. Good luck.

do you think this is true? i don't. i'm pretty sure everyone knows the difference between lust and love. it's just a choice you make whether to go for one or the other. or both. or maybe you just like sex and want to have fun. why does love even have to fit into the equation?

Meh, I make it a point never to call another girl a slut or whore unless I know for a fact she sleeps around because she doesn't have enough self-respect and caution to be safe and control herself (but even then, what business do I have judging others' sexual activities?). There's always that one girl who's a walking chasm of STI's, and I don't call just anyone that type of girl without evidence. Also, it only makes it okay for males to call women sluts, bitches, and whores because women say all that to other women first. I know you aren't a girl and you were just joking, but you never know what effect your words could have when "it's just the Internet": look at Suzette and how she tried to delete CB because of things that happened strictly online.

Anyway, just because you exercise your right to have sex with whomever you want doesn't mean you're a slut; that's ridiculous and a rather naive statement to make. Whoever said that needs to grow up and see what it's like to want to sleep around and have to restrain herself for the sake of doing it only with guys she at least likes, if not loves, and to feel like a slut for having such thoughts/committing said acts.
