They're sticking their arms out and tripping up other skaters (and occasionally, themselves). I'm no expert in speed skating, but damn, those Koreans are such cheats.

If you watched the 1000M race today, you would have noticed that Apollo Ohno (USA) pulled out his right arm while the South Koreans were going for the top spots. To answer the OP's question, I would have to say that the reason for theit win is that they didnt waste their energy in the first 5 laps like Canada, we all know its harder to maintain the top spot than coming up as the underdog. Also being Asian might have helped as well. Their thinner bodies and shorter heights could have played a significance in this race when it comes to air resistance |
