![]() how do you feel about this? does it ring true or are we still at fault? i think the majority of us would agree kids are f*cked up nowadays. even people in their early 20's like me feel that kids are f*cked up and that it's a world apart from how it was when we were kids. what happened? or is this just how it works, and we are forever destined to think the generation in below us is f*cked? at what point does it get to be too messed up? now we hear stories of 5th graders giving head in the bathroom or other bizarre sounding events. regardless of whether my generation was f*cked up at 11 years old, that's not the kind of f*cked up people were complaining about i don't think. how important is this and how is it going to shape our world? how big an effect does the loss of innocence have. i'm not talking completely about sex, but i guess sex related is just a good example. i'm more talking about the fact that it seems like kids have an increasingly more narrow frame of time to be kids. is it going to go to the point where they don't have a childhood hardly at all? |

I feel as if I'm desensitized whenever I see horrific things, but now days kids are joking about the same horrific things I can only look at. I've seen people get killed, I know what it looks like. And I can tell you I would never be able kill someone, but little kids all the time are joking about killing people.
I'm not sure if they just don't know what they're talking about, or if they're genuinely more f*cked up than the previous generations. And the parents don't help, either. When I was little, my parents wouldn't even think to let me play an M rated game. Now my four year old cousin's favourite game is Grand Theft Auto 4. When I was his age my favourite game was f*cking Super Mario Brothers, a game where peak violence is jumping on your enemy's head. And the first R rated movie I ever saw? It was Hotel Rwanda. I have younger cousins that have seen gory movies like Faces of Death and racist movies like Boss Nigger, all under the careless supervision of their parents. Parents now are also afraid to discipline their kids. When I did something wrong, I got whipped on the ass with a fiberglass rod, or had to kneel on rice for half an hour. When my younger brother did something wrong, he got five minutes in time out, which consisted of sitting on the couch. |
