I guess your friends aren't die hard DMC fans. And for the camera problem, there's a thing called settings. There is a section in the settings devoted to the camera, so you can change the speed. The plot was short and a bit out of whack, but most games are. I found it quite entertaining. As for the characters, of course they sucked because there was no back story accept for like 4 people. That's why they are planning to make a sequel or a prequel devoted to the history. And if you're going to diss Hideki Kamiya, you might as well diss the whole DMC series as well. You should at least play the demo to make your own opinion instead of your friends.
