Do you ever do it? Like maybe there's something you need to do, but for some reason you're too scared or lazy or whatever so you talk yourself out of doing it which then leads to missed opportunities, closed doors, etc.

I got an in-person interview for the hospital job I really want. It'll be a great resume booster, awesome experience, etc. Except I'm so nervous, I'm psyching myself out and I've even considered sending an "I'm sick, can't come to the interview" email. There is a good chance that my nerves will overcome my reason and I'm not gonna go to the stupid interview, not gonna get the job, not gonna get to med school, not gonna be a doctor. T_T

For something like that i hope you wouldn't sabotage yourself by not going. You're throwing away a great opportunity and you might never get that chance again. Like Dee said i hope you do go. If you don't you're really going to regret it and look back and wish that you went to that interview.
I mean honestly sabotaging yourself on such a good opportunity is dumb of you.
