it may not hit theaters, & it probably shouldn't. most of the "hype" concerning this movie is entirely invented by the studio. but, i did go to a screening in chicago & i did see a few satisfied people. however, ultimately, i don't feel my theater (700+ people) was particularly impressed. the film moved from some very creepy & interesting staging or ideas, but ultimately fails in its execution: the acting is poor, the pacing is horrible, the film lends itself to corniness & absurdity. nonetheless, it's not that scary @ all.
if you want to support a feature murdered by the studio... go buy trick r treat on dvd or bluray, it's far more entertaining & even, in some ways, "scarier." |
