Why do people feel the need to be pessimistic? I mean, what does it do, really? You just feel bad about yourself and then what, does it really make you happy?

I have always been a rather optimistic person - I have confidence in myself, I feel better about myself, I'm more focused, I perform better, I come out on top (most of the time), I feel like a winner. So I can't understand why some people are perpetual assholes.

The worst pessimists are the ones that look out for people left with any glimmer of hope in their souls and stomp on it until there's none left. Fine, you can be a downer on your own time, but to infect someone else with it is just rude, and MEAN.

Hate pessimistic douchebags.

Are you pessimistic or optimistic? Which one is better and why? Discuss.

No, I'm serious. She's been like this for such a long time. I just usually don't pay attention to it, but she always complains and says she has the most horrible life and nobody has it worse than her. ;___;
