I like the new style you tried and the concept of it, but I suggest you lessen the use of brushes, or maybe it's just the position of them that makes it look a bit weird. Also, you should try to get a bit more creative with your layouts. It's like your banners are pretty good, but then all the content and the way the content area is displayed is just either looks too simple/plain/basic or it looks too tacky. Try using subtle colors and gradients. Additionally, when it comes to new styles, how about trying not to box everything in? Make your content become it's own borders. Use a different way of styling the way your footer looks. Maybe include something that's dynamic like a Javascript/Ajax menu of some sort. It's a pretty nice improvement to what you've done in the past, but it's still not very appealing. Ah yes, and let's not forget another important factor when it comes to designs, the font you choose. Your font should be easy to read, smooth, and attractive. Try to give the font some individuality by adding some styling to it in Photoshop or even using the new, lovely CSS3. Colors is also another biggie; you should make sure the colors you use flow well together and you should also make sure they wouldn't hurt someone's eyes (aka - clashing). In general, the layout is alright (it's not that bad), but it's still not very creative and appealing. Remember, try looking at high quality design tutorials and popular design tutorial/magazine sites like PsdTuts+ or SmashingMagazine.

On another note, try using a texture or brush to make the wings seem broken and you should make your content area much more larger, it's WAY too small. O_o
