tbh, i don't think it would be good. parts of the third movie was already quite forced. however, if it does come out i don't think i can not watch.

i have been reading about 'Pirates 4' and articles have been saying that by the next Pirates movie after this one, Johnny depp will NO LONGER be in the trilogy...

September 28, 2009 - Johnny Depp recently made it known that he'd suddenly become very disenchanted with reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fourth film in Disney's blockbuster franchise which is slated for a 2011 release. Now it appears that Depp's disinterest may go beyond just the next installment.

A "regular tipster" for Latino Review claims that "even if (Depp) makes the fourth film, he definitely won't be back for a fifth or sixth. Given that the Pirates franchise was the only live-action property making any money for the studio, they could reach deep in their pockets and keep Depp on for #4, but they're also preparing to replace Captain Jack with a entirely new character if he refuses a fifth and sixth film." If true, might it be the oft-rumored Russell Brand as Captain Jack's brother Jonathan?

Depp's sudden loss of enthusiasm for Pirates 4, a project that he'd thus far been a cheerleader for, stems from the unexpected departure (some claim firing) of Dick Cook, the longtime chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, from his post a few weeks ago. In an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Depp said he was "shocked and very sad" about Cook's abrupt exit from the studio and credited him for standing by him when other Disney execs balked at his offbeat portrayal of Jack Sparrow during the making of the first Pirates movie. He also spoke of his close personal friendship with Cook, deeming him "the sweetest man on the planet and such a gent."

The Times reported that "Depp said while he has a potential deal in place [for Pirates 4] that will depend on how good the script is, his passion for the project at the moment has been severely dampened by the news that Cook will no longer be around."

"There's a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment," the Oscar-nominated actor told the paper. "It was all born in (Cook's) office."
