The other day, a woman came to my door telling me that she had just moved in up the street and her husbands car broke down. She asked me for $20 in gas money and promised to pay me back the next day. I thought $20 was a bit steep so I gave her $10. Later on, my dad told me that people go around neighborhoods asking for "gas money" and then pool it at the end of the day. I felt like an idiot because I am usually good at telling when someone is scamming me but I guess I was just slow that day. Ugh.
Have any of you guys ever been scammed like that? |

How the hell did you believe that?
When I was in D.C. somebody asked me for money so they could catch the next bus to go to church. I gave him $5 and said it was just to get him to stop spouting bullcrap. At least make up something cool, not ****ing church. Plus I'm an atheist so if he had been telling the truth I wouldn't have given him anything. |
