I bought a meal at Mcdonalds and I noticed that they taxed me for a eating in ($.35)...are you forserious? So the next time I bought a meal, I asked for it "to go" so I wouldn't have to pay the tax and they taxed me for that too...what the hell?! So either way Im getting taxed "/ uggghs...I hate tax ! Do you get taxed for eating in and taking out at restaurants you go to??

Doesn't restaurant food always get taxed? Unlike groceries, restaurant food is a "luxury item".

Doesn't restaurant food always get taxed? Unlike groceries, restaurant food is a "luxury item". All food, including groceries are taxed here (in Tennessee). We don't have state taxes, so I'm guessing that's why. It really irritates me though, because as a single with a dependent, I always get quite a bit in tax returns. It feels/seems like I'm still paying state taxes without a chance for a return. |
