I saw it a couple days ago, and honestly it wasn't very good.
I mean aside from any gore, I enjoy Tarantino's style. And I enjoy talking thrillers more than things blowing up everywhere, kind of thrillers, the 20 minute talking bar scene was probably my favorite in the movie. And I thought the acting was mostly great, the cinematography was good, the production in general was good. But it goes to show none of that can redeem a mostly bad script. In my opinion, the story is downright stupid. There's little plot development. It's not historically accurate... which would be fine, but if you've seen the violence in the last chapter, you may know what I'm talking about. Characters are introduced and barely seen for the rest of the movie, AKA shifting the camera to a character and showing ten seconds of their past, only to have them die two minutes later. Or with Brad Pitt's character, who was never given any purpose for his role besides a one liner, "Lets go pwn nazis because they r like, total monsters guyz". There were scenes were I literally rolled my eyes, which I usually never do with TV or movies. Like the last scene with Frederick. But I don't want to mention any spoilers for the sake of spoiling. I think it was over hyped. But that's just my opinion. I can see why others like it, though. |
