My god... and I thought IE was slow.
So I've been using Firefox as my main browser for about a year now. I must say, up until now I have ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. Although, recently, I have noticed that Firefox is running extremely slowly now. I thought this was my internet connection, and that I couldn't do anything about it. I tried using Google chrome to view things, and it was like my computer was brand spankin' new. It was absolutely fantastic... kind of like the first time I used Firefox. I don't get it. It's not like you store files into your web browser (temporary internet files? -- I already deleted those), so I don't know why Firefox is running slower than Chrome. I thought Mozilla always bragged about how fast Firefox was. I tried IE, too, but don't get me started on that one :P it's still slower than a dead snail. So what can I do to speed up Firefox? I do not like Google chrome AT ALL. It's amazingly fast, but I just love my Firefox and I want to be able to use it more.. just faster. WAY faster. |

Did you ever think that...I dunno...that the size of the installer doesn't really have anything to do with memory footprint, performance, and other runtime properties? |

Did you ever think that...I dunno...that the size of the installer doesn't really have anything to do with memory footprint, performance, and other runtime properties? Seriously! Ok, it's faster than an old build of Chrome, a beta Firefox (and a poorly ported version of said beta for Mac), Opera, and IE8. Tested on Vista, with a fairly average, two gigs of RAM, and a three year old GPU. And the benchmarks were done with an application that greatly favors Safari. Ya well, I am useing a mac with 4gb of ram and a 2.5 ghz processor. |
