Elton John does not belong on an AIC record. I can totally understand him being an influence to Jerry Cantrell, but whyyyyy is he on an AIC record?
I know a lot of people are saying "Give it a chance. Sure Nirvana never would've been the same without Kurt and Queen wasn't the same without Freddie, but can't Alice in Chains be the same without Layne?" but they don't realize the impact that the band made when it came to vocals... Layne and Jerry harmonizing was AIC. No offense to William Duvall (who really isn't that great anyways) but the vocals is a part of AIC that can't really be replaced, not to mention Layne Staley left big shoes to fill. So big that it shouldn't have been attempted. Jerry Cantrell has defended the re-banding by saying that him and the guys just want to play music, but I guess I just don't understand why Jerry didn't include Duvall in one of "projects" that didn't involve the Alice in Chains name. Mmk, I'm going to stop. haha |
