So I am looking at building a new computer and wanted your opinion on the parts. I am not looking to spend over a grand and will NOT purchase AMD products.
Processor Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz Motherboard XFX MB-N780-ISH9 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI RAM two of these for a total of 8 gigs of ram CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Video Card XFX GeForce GTX 275 896MB 448-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Hard Drive HITACHI 1TB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Power Supply Thermaltake Toughpower XT 750W Case Thermaltake ElementS Black SECC ATX Mid Tower |

Honestly, the only place Intel should dominate AMD is in workstations and servers.
Also, now that you mention it, I've never burned out an ATI card, but I go through Nvidia cards quick. |
