Getting a mac. Options

What do you think is the cheapest way to get a mac? My internship requires/advises me to get a mac and the cs4 suite. So im gonna get a 15 inch macbook and I need photoshop, flash, and illustrator. After effects and dreamweaver would be great bonuses but they only use text editors to make their sites.

So would the cheapest way to get a mac be by using a student discount? I heard I could get a 10-15 percent discount. And i heard I could get the web premuim pack for like 400 bucks with student discount. Not sure if I should get the web premuim or the production premuim because the production premuim has, ps, illustrator, flash and after effects.

My brother has a buddy who could get me a large discount since he used to work for apple. I could try and convince him to talk to him.

I purchased my iMac from the Apple Store in St Louis, using my military discount I got the 24 inch 3.06GHZ one with Apple care of w/a they call it for $1,499.99 plus tax.

You can get more discounts plus what you are already getting, you just need to know how to talk to the sales people on the phone. The discounts depend really on the agreement between Apple and the place you are getting discounts from, typically most universities and colleges have the same discount rate, but I have seen companies such as AG Edwards and Morgan Stanley have far better discounts available for their employees.

Although they are somewhat expensive, don't sweat the price, they pay for themselves in the long run. Just get whatever discounts you can, and if you can't find the software for cheap, pirate that shit.

Tax was nothing, plus the AAFES stores sell refurbished electronics and don't tell you about it, as was the case with my Sony TV, my xBox and my printer.

I also got a state discount too.

If you are related to anyone in the military you qualify for the AAFES Apple discount as well. Per what the Apple Store dude told me, but he was an idiot, so who knows.
