Or I did until this: "$595 plus a biometrics fee of $80; the fee total is $675." Jeez, I'm not that patriotic. Plus, my father served this country in the Air Force, yet he'd have to pay to become nationalized? Bull.
So I will trade someone here either Canadian or Iranian citizenship or a 1st-edition Charizard for their American one. |

How did your father serve the country?
Actually, I've never heard of special treatment for permanent residents in the military... The only special benefits I know for serving the country (while being an immigrant or a foreigner) are Filipinos who served during WWII http://www1.va.gov/opa/fact/filipvet.asp I'm quite lucky because my mom didn't care about how much she'd have to pay. She wanted me to be an American citizen for the benefits. And now I am. If you really wanted to be a citizen, you'd pay for it, even if you have to post-pone it. My mom post-poned it for us for a couple years... |
