Should physical education be required, or should it be banned?

because in middle school most kids dont lift weights, and most of the coaches arent exactly known for their strength and coniditoning programs. Also, alot of athletes at that level do what is necessary physical wise for their sport during the season and thats it. Middle school is a good transition age where you can show the kid the benefits of a good PE program, and teach him health habits for life. I know thats what elementary is for, but this is the age where they do start to gain some interest in working out. Also, unless they ARE an athlete, at that age they prolly dont do any regimented strength training. Finally, you are just going to further the notion that athletes are better than the regular kids and cause some uneasiness by doing that.
