what systems does blu-ray work on other than ps3?
i recently got ps3, so i was able to watch final fantasy advent children complete blu-ray, it wouldn't work on any of my DVD systems which was annoying. so wondering, blu ray only for ps3 or what? -- Moved to Technology. |

I'm guessing new PCs usually come with a blu-ray drive, but I don't think you want to invest money on another computer when you just bought a whopping PS3.
In what particular reason did you buy the PS3? They have great games, you just need to browse through the catalog. If you're a hardcore gamer, then the PS3 is like the perfect console for you. Graphics, online gaming, massive storage, Blu=Ray disk, chat, web surfing, accelerator-type controller, what else could you ask for? There is also a major difference between Blu-Ray and a regular DVD player. The graphics are much sharper and the colors brighten up more. For some reason though, I think the lighting is also a bit better. You also get more content than the regular DVD version. However, I'm not a big fan of going through all the features from a DVD unless I'm really bored or have time on my hands. If you have a more larger amount of regular DVDS, the Nintendo Wii is capable of playing dvds if you homebrew it. ( There's a much more easier way than Twilight hack, btw. ) But, the Wii is targeted towards the younger / family crowds, so it depends. Xbox 360, you can play DVDs, but not HD-DVDS or blu-rays. so it's limited. I think the Xbox360 focuses more on single player styles, so it depends on your taste of style. It really depends on what your console will deliver for you. If you're a die hard game fanatic, the PS3 is for you. If you're more of a laid-back adventure type, I guess Xbox 360 is right for your style, and if you just want to have fun, the Wii is perfect for you. Since you bought the PS3, I think you'll get the most out of these current generation consoles. /end rant |
