What are some good wines that you guys have had over the years? I am actually thinking of going to the local wine store to get educated on wine.

^ I am completely the opposite. I rarely drink white wine. About 99.9% of the wine I drink is red.
Like Michael said though, it sometimes depends on what you are eating (although quite frankly, I'd still prefer a red no matter what haha). Javonn, what do you prefer? I really like reading reviews. I'd try some of that. I used to get Wine Advocate magazine, but can no longer afford it (it's way expensive). There are other, cheaper wine magazines out there (if you're going to become a serious connoisseur, you should consider getting one. I'll be honest, men who know their wine are a big turn on for older women lol). A couple of online review sites (the second I can vouch for). http://www.winereviewonline.com/wine_reviews.cfm http://www.winespectator.com/Wine/Free/WS_...0,4519,,00.html Sometimes it's about finding "your" wine dealer. There is one I pretty much always go to (although I just discovered a really good new store) and the reviews they post next to the wine has never done me wrong. OH, varieties. I like cab/shiraz mixes alot. Pinot Noir can very good. Again though, it depends on the wine. I've had excellent cabs and I've had some vomit worthy cabs. |
