I have a particular distaste for poems. generally, i feel poetry is contrived and formulaic. of course there are brilliant ones, but too many crappy ones flood the literary world.

Poetry, is not only words written and placed down on mere paper. It is words formed by thoughts and emotions, whether it be sadness, anger, hatred, joy, confusion, struggles, or realization, poetry is how a person can express their true selves, and allowing others to know about how their mind works; what things go through their head..
Poetry doesn't have to rhyme, it doesn't have to have a certain amount of syllables, it doesn't need puncuation, or propper grammar; just like a person. People don't have to always abide by the rules, be what others expect, people can live life the way they want, despite if there are consequences, good or bad. Poetry has many purposes, to share an individual's joy, to tell a story of despair, to silently cry out for help, or help another, it doesn't matter, poetry is flexible and can be in any shape, size, or form. Like a person. To me, poetry is something that tells others about a part of that person's life. Or life itelf, and what life holds. I'm sorry if I'm boring you guys, but I just really love poetry! LoL. Weird to be seeinga all of this come from a young fourteen year old girl. ![]() ![]() |
